Domain Support offers email filtering options that allow you to
specify who you do and do not want to receive email from. To update your email
filter settings visit the "Manage Email" section of your account control
panel.
Email filtering options include:
Blocking based on
"blacklists": Domain Support subscribes to 5 email blacklists. These companies
keep a public list of servers, companies and email addresses that are common
sources of unsolicited email. You can select to filter your email based on any
or all of these lists.
"Smart" spam detection: You can select to
have your messages filtered based on common patterns in the headers or body of
your email, as well as large numbers of similar recipients and common Microsoft
Outlook exploits. You can also select to block all blind carbon copied (BCC)
email, commonly used by spammers.
User defined filters: You can
specify email addresses and domains that you always want to receive email from
or that you always want to reject email from. You can also specify key words
that may appear in the subject, headers, body, etc. of your emails that you want
to always accept or always reject.
Confirminator: To completely
block unwanted email, use the "Reject all email" in conjunction with the
confirminator. The confirminator bounces email back to the sender, giving them
the option to confirm themselves as a legitimate email sender.
Once you
determine what filters you would like to use, you need to decide if you want to
have the email delivered normally to you marked with a "SPAM" label, deleted, or
returned to the sender. You can select to backup all rejected email for 10 days.
If you find that you have filtered out an email that you wanted to receive, you
can select to redeliver the message to your email box.
